"Yoti"

      "Yoti - Irma is a Licensed Therapeutic Massage Therapist, a Certified Hands-On & Reiki Practitioner, an Aromatherapist and is Certified in, Multi-cultural Studies: The Theory and Practice of Human Spirituality, Owner of HEALING'S - Mind, Body & Soul, including Therapeutic Holistic Massages, also offering  Kenpo Karate Classes, three times a week.  Hosts "Women's Self-Defense Workshop" twice a year, Herbal & Natural Products in Bishop, California.   Yoti  is of "Taino" descendent - Native of "Boriken" from the Caribbean, born in the region of the Central North.  (the picture above was done by a Taino Artist in New York  Reina "Sipainaru" Miranda it is of a Taino womanTo see more of Reina's artwork go to website www.tainospirit.com.

Her main focus is on Inkan Shamanism from the Andes of Peru, Ecuador, and Native American and works heavily on Cleansing, Emotional Release Therapy, Curse Removals, Soul Retrieval,  Eliminations & Extractions, Death Rites, Chakra Balancing, Toning,  Holistic Healing, Essential Oil Therapy, Ceremonies, Meditations and Readings.  She does her healing work with Crystals, Stones, Herbs, Oils, Sound, Card & Leaf Readings, with the aid of her spiritual guides & teachers, she is able to assist her clients for their highest good.  Currently Yoti is residing on the Bishop Paiute Tribe in Bishop, California and from her home office works diligently on all aspects of her Traditional Knowledge Program.

She is heavily involved in Inka Shamanism and the Native American medicine ways. Currently assisting various Spiritual Elders from South America, Mexico, and North America .  "Yoti" assists on Preservation Indigenous Projects throughout California.   She also is a adjunct faculty at the Otomi International Indigenous University in Toluca, Mexico, was Partner and Coordinator to the Shamanic School "Inka Puma Traditions" in Santa Monica, California.  Her dedication to her teachings and to help others is seen during her Ceremonies, Workshops, and Meditations.  She is considered to be the bridge between the North and The South Americas and strongly believes in bringing All Indigenous Nations together, to Preserve and Teach the Cultural Language, Ceremonies, Rituals and in Healing Mother Earth for The Education of Our Future Generations To Come.

 2003-present, Yoti is the Marketing/Program Coordinator, writing all grants/proposals for the TEK (Traditional Ecological Knowledge) Program.  Is instrumental in arranging all aspects of the TEK projects (i.e, Traditional Dance & Songs, Arts, Crafts, The Elders & Youth Gathering, The Paiute Mountain School/Camp, Life Ways Camp, Workshops on Herbal Plants, etc.)

Qwina H. West

Leads the Paiute Mountain School for tribal youth ages 10-18 and the annual Elders & Youth Gathering in the Owens Valley bringing Elders from Canada, USA, Mexico, South America and local communities to teach and share with the youth and Elders.  He also teaches Traditional Dance & Songs, Traditional Skills, Arts and Crafts.  Hosts the Annual Bear Healing Ceremony in Bishop, Ca. Hosts the Life Ways Camp, on Traditional Ways, for the native youth in the Owens Valley.  Hosts The Annual Ancestors and Mountain Ceremonies in the Owens Valley,Ca.  He Is considered one of the Spiritual and Traditionalist leaders within his community.  Gives workshops on Traditional Skills, Basketry, Traditional Dance & Son, conducts traditional ceremonies throughout the year, honoring his ancestors, the spirit of the land and mountains and honors the Bear Clan with Bear Healing Ceremonies.  All events given by Mr. West is strictly for Native & Indigenous peoples. Though he does not turn anyone that comes for healing, for he helps all of the five finger ones.  He had been heard saying;  First I have to bring my people together - the Native People - but I am here for all people.

He is a Owens Valley Paiute who has worked with the Elders of The Eastern Sierras for the last 26 years.   As cultural consultant with Owens Valley Career Development Center since 1996, he has worked with the youth in the area in Traditional knowledge and cultural activities (18 years) and in development and teaching the Paiute language (14 years).

Mr. West, also has 29 years in the Martial Arts, Vice President of the Alo Kenpo Karate Association, he is a 6th degree Black Belt in Alo Kenpo Karate, 5th degree with the United States Karate Alliance, 2nd degree Okinawa Kenpo Kobudo, 1st degree in Anis, and has taught for the last 19 years. Currently the Karate instructor at HEALING'S in Bishop, California.

Mr. West has worked as the ESICE (Eastern Sierra Institute for Collaborative Education Bishop, Ca) TEK Director and Educational Programs Manager, worked on the Roadside Heritage Program as a technical consultant.  As the TEK Director at ESICE for the last 10 years and has led a number of collaborative projects with the Bishop Paiute-Shoshone Career Development Center, the Bishop Indian Education Center, the Big Pine Education Program, the Inyo County Office of Education, and University of California White Mountain Research Station.

Was previously the Chairman of the Bishop Paiute Gaming Commission for 4 years for the Bishop Paiute Tribe and a Tribal Gaming Commissioner for the last 8 years(1995 to 2003). 

Currently Mr. West is the Inyo/Kern County Language Coordinator for the Career Development Center through the Nuumu Yadoha Language Center in Bishop, California and participated in many traditional activities given by The Bishop Paiute Tribe, Lone Pine, Big Pine and other local tribes within the Owens Valley.
