Mr. Qwina H. West Sr., is the Master Instructor at HEALINGS.
Sensei West, is a 6th Degree Black Belt in Alo Kenpo Karate Association, 6th Degree Black Belt with the United States Karate Alliance, 2nd Degree Black Belt in Okinawan Kenpo Kobudo and a 1st Degree Black Belt in Arnis. Sensei West has been teaching for 20 years and has 32 years in the Arts. Sensei West is also the Vice President of the Alo Kenpo Karate Association.
Mr. West study Kenpo Karate from the late Shihan Ronald Moku Alo from 1980 up until his passing in October 5, 1990. Shihan Julie k. Alo-Cromwell is now the head of the system (Alo Kenpo Karate Association).
Alo Kenpo Karate has been in the Owens Valley since 1980 and continues with Sensei West.
Classes are taught on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays - 5:30 pm to 8:00pm.
Beginner, Intermediate and Advance classes - Teaching all aspects of the Art.
Sensei West has over 32 years exrerience as a Master Instructor. Discipline, Structure, Awareness. The school have various Martial Arts Workshop this year for all levels of Karate and different modalities. Children 8 yrs & Up, Adults classes. At the Championships three of our whitebelts participated; Mikey Macruzic, Will Stange and Adult Whitebelt - Tim Steele.
We would like to thank these students for thier efforts. Going to a tournament for the first time is exciting and also a bit nervy, so really give kudos to these two young boys for thier great efforts!

Tim Steele did great for his first time at the Championships. His dedication and efforts won him 2nd place in sparring and 3rd place in Kata. Way to go Tim!

At HEALINGS
The Self-Defense Workshop was held this past Saturday, November 7th, at HEALINGS, 725 N. Barlow Lane, in Bishop, at the Red Eagle Kenpo Karate Kai School.
Caroline "CJ" Joncas , Advocate, Victims/Witness Assistance Center from Independence, CA, District Attorney's Office, opened the workshop on "Awareness of your Surroundings" and the centers resources available to the women within our community.
Maria Evans, our Master Karate Instructor, spoke to the women on their rights to defend themselves and their bodies and taught techniques on Self-Defense that the women participated and learned during the course of the day.
Feedback on the workshop from the participants has been great. We have received many phone calls from friends and family members of our participants asking when our next workshop will be held and our Karate School.
HEALINGS/Red Eagle Kenpo Karate Kai School would like to thank our speaker and Instructor and our volunteers for their time and effort and bringing this workshop together and awareness to the women in our community.
HEALINGS will be conducting several workshops throughout 2010 that will incorporate in each of their workshops various modalities of Karate.
